The Bachelor of Arts in Drama and Film was renamed in 2010 when the component of film added.Entry into the program is through any of the following schemes:Direct Entry: applicants must have obtained the ordinary level certificate, or it’s equivalent; two advanced level passes in any arts or science subject of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education or its equivalent obtained at the same sitting.Diploma Holders Scheme: the applicant must hold at least a second-class diploma in music to qualify for the Academic Music Strand or in any field for the Popular and Community music strand, from a recognized institution.Mature Age Scheme: the applicant must have passed the mature age examination set by Makerere University.STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAMFirst YearAll the 12 courses are core.Second YearAll together, there are 6 core courses and 13 electives, which are chosen on depending on the specialization option the student has chosen. A student may chose a maximum of one elective per semester from any program or subject, outside the BDRF program, on offer in the department of Music, Dance and Drama as long as s/he meets the requirements and other conditions governing admission into such a course. The course chosen should be seen to enhance the student’s competence in the field of performance.Third YearAll together, there are 6 core courses and 15 electives, which are chosen on depending on the specialization option the student has chosen.
