Pamela Mbabazi Byakwaga is an Assistant Lecturer of Music at the Department of Performing Arts and Film, Makerere University where she teaches courses in Ethnomusicology, Song Writing, Music Performance, Music Archiving, and Music Analysis. She holds an M.A. (Music) and a B. A. (Music) degree from Makerere University and is currently a PhD student in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUSS) at Makerere University. Her research interests include but are not limited to Popular Music and Technology, medical ethnomusicology and Music, dance and Identity in contexts of Migration. Ms. Mbabazi has won several awards including the GERDA HENKEL Stiftung which is currently funding her Ph.D. studies at Makerere University, ACE NORAD scholarship for her M. A study as well as the Government of Uganda sponsorship for her Bachelor’s studies at Makerere University.
